Conf. Univ. Dr. Luminița Nica (vineri, 3 aprilie)

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luminița Nica is an Associate Professor in the field of Endodontics and Operative Dentistry at the Faculty of Dental Medicine of the “Victor Babeș” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Timișoara. She coordinates residency programs in Endodontics and has supervised numerous undergraduate theses, developing strong clinical and theoretical training skills for both students and residents.
Academically, Dr. Nica holds a PhD in Medical Sciences, awarded for a thesis focused on apexification therapy of teeth with wide apices and the importance of maintaining them in the dental arch from an orthodontic perspective. She is a senior specialist in General Dentistry and a specialist in Endodontics, with extensive clinical experience, including private practice limited exclusively to Endodontics - being the founder of the first dental office in Romania dedicated solely to this specialization.
Her teaching activity includes undergraduate and residency-level Endodontics courses, integrated clinical training within the curriculum, supervision of scientific papers, and the organization of postgraduate courses and international workshops. She is actively involved in scientific research, with numerous publications in international journals and conference presentations addressing topics such as root canal morphology, the efficiency of obturation materials, imaging methods for evaluating endodontic treatment, and the microbiology of endo-periodontal lesions.
Dr. Nica also holds leadership positions within the university, including department director, head of discipline, and residency coordinator. She is an active member of several national and international scientific societies in dentistry and endodontics, contributing to the organization of international congresses and symposia. She has been recognized with academic and research awards, including distinctions for scientific papers and teaching contributions.
