Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mariana Miron is a prominent figure in the field of oral rehabilitation and dental emergencies, and a faculty member at the Faculty of Dental Medicine of the “Victor Babeș” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Timișoara.
With a teaching career spanning more than 25 years, she has progressed through all academic ranks, from Assistant Lecturer to Associate Professor, playing an active role in training generations of dentists through both theoretical courses and clinical and practical activities dedicated to oral rehabilitation, medically compromised patients, and dental emergencies.
She is also a senior specialist in General Dentistry, with clinical activity at the Dental Outpatient Clinic of the Municipal Clinical Hospital of Timișoara since 2000. Her work is complemented by certifications and advanced training in laser therapy in dentistry. She obtained her PhD in Medical Sciences in 2005, with a thesis focused on the use of lasers in periodontal diseases.
A significant part of her scientific activity centers on laser technologies, laser Doppler flowmetry, oral microcirculation, dentin hypersensitivity, dental biomaterials, and the clinical behavior of oral tissues. She is the author and co-author of numerous university courses, book chapters, and scientific papers published in impact-factor journals, including the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, Diagnostics, Romanian Journal of Morphology and Embryology, and Materials Plastics.
